Assistant Director of Extended Day

Saint Ambrose Catholic School is seeking an Assistant Director of Extended Day for the school year.

The Extended Day Assistant Director partners with the Extended Day Director to provide a safe nurturing organized and engaging before- and after-school program for students in Preschool through Grade 8. The Assistant Director helps oversee the daily operation of the program supports the supervision and development of staff maintains positive relationships with students and families and ensures that all program policies and procedures are consistently followed.

Responsibilities include assisting with program planning student supervision staff scheduling parent communication daily operations and maintaining a high-quality Christ-centered the absence of the Extended Day Director the Assistant Director serves as the acting director and assumes responsibility for the operation of the program. At least one member of the leadership teamthe Director or Assistant Directormust be present whenever the program is in operation.

The Assistant Director must be a person of integrity who is organized dependable and able to lead with professionalism and compassion. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. The Assistant Director also supports staff training professional growth and continuous program improvement under the direction of the Extended Day Director.

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Associates degree in education child development psychology recreation or a related field preferred.

• At least two years of experience working with children in a school childcare camp or youth program.

• Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.

• Ability to organize supervise and communicate effectively with children families and staff.

• Must successfully complete all required diocesan and state background checks and Virtus training.

• Bachelors degree in education child development or a related field.

• One or more years of experience supervising staff or coordinating an extended day childcare or youth program.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish.

• Current First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain it).

The pay range for the Extended Day Assistant Director is $24$26 per hour based on experience. This is a part-time position with an anticipated schedule of approximately 22 hours per week.
