Position Summary:This position contributes to undergraduate new student recruitment at Washburn by leading the campus visit experience including personalized campus visits group visits and recruitment events. The Assistant Director Campus Visit Experience supervises the Campus Visit Experience staff and manages the Student Ambassador program.

Essential Functions:
Serve as the supervising contact for all Undergraduate Recruitment and Admissions campus visitors and will lead and manage the planning and execution of all undergraduate new student recruitment events and the personalized campus visits for prospective students and their parents/guests.
Supervise support and manage assigned staff to maximize employee performance and facilitate professional growth. Recruit hire train schedule and evaluate the performance and effectiveness of assigned staff. Conduct meetings and performance reviews with assigned staff to provide appropriate feedback and professional development opportunities to ensure job expectations are understood and met and encourage staff to work toward individual and department goals. Work to maintain a healthy and fair work environment by promoting and exercising teamwork and collaboration.
Ensure assigned staff receive training understand and make effective contributions to all areas of the campus visit experience and the new student recruitment process through an informative fun and engaging visit experience.
Serve as the lead point of contact for the Washburn community in the collaborative planning scheduling and execution of undergraduate recruitment events group visits and personalized campus visits. Serve as the lead point of contact for high school community college and community personnel to collaboratively bring prospective students to Washburn for the campus visit experience.
Alongside Enrollment Management Strategic Marketing and Communications collaboratively manage all communications regarding the campus visit experience ensuring timely and informative communications are sent to visitors about their campus visit experiences.
Work collaboratively with appropriate staff to ensure timely and accurate marketing and promotion of and communication for new student recruitment campus visit events.
Manage and approve work schedules and timesheets for assigned staff.
Collect analyze interpret and assess data from all aspects of the campus visit experience using data to strategically inform future efforts and direction.
Attend conferences and other training programs/events regarding higher education leadership new student recruitment and the campus visit experience to improve management ability identify best practices and learn new strategies to ensure a fun engaging and effective student ambassador program and campus visit experience.
Participate in unit and department meetings training opportunities and other appropriate professional development.
Remain aware of and competent in the use of emerging recruitment and enrollment technologies.
Perform additional job-related duties as assigned or as appropriate.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree.
Two years of experience in collegiate recruitment admissions sales collegiate activities or other related areas.
Experience in event management facilitation or related work.
Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively independently and within a team construct.
Proven ability and commitment to establishing and maintaining effective professional relationships including underrepresented student populations.
Proven ability to organize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with many interruptions while adhering to deadlines.
Demonstrated capacity to effectively use Windows operating software and Microsoft Office products.
Valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record under Washburns standards.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to handle and maneuver objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
Ability to drive golf cart-type vehicles around campus.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a supervisory role.
Washburn University Alumni.

Exempt Full-time Mon-Fri 8am-5pm
