Job Summary
Position Function:
This position supports the Mississippi State Dance Team by assisting with practices choreography game day performances competition preparation recruitment clinics camps and related program operations
Employees hired into Intermittent positions are limited to working no more than 720 hours per fiscal year.
Salary Grade:UC
For salary grade UC these positions are Unclassified and salary ranges are determined by the hiring department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assist with the planning organization and execution of Mississippi State Dance Team practices rehearsals performances and related team activities.
2. Support the development of dance team members through instruction feedback skill development conditioning and performance preparation.
3. Assist with choreography routine development music preparation and performance staging for athletic events appearances and competitions.
4. Support game day operations and responsibilities including preparation team organization sideline or performance coordination and other duties related to athletic event appearances.
5. Assist with preparation for national competitions including practice support routine cleaning performance evaluation and competition logistics.
6. Help ensure dance team members represent Mississippi State University with professionalism sportsmanship and adherence to program expectations.
7. Assist with recruitment clinics tryouts and other recruiting-related activities designed to identify and engage prospective dance team members.
8. Support summer camp operations including planning assistance instruction supervision and coordination of camp-related activities.
9. Assist with team travel appearances community engagement and other assigned events as needed.
10. Contribute to social media content and promotional efforts that support the visibility brand culture and accomplishments of the Mississippi State Dance Team.
11. Work collaboratively with the Head Dance Coach spirit program staff athletics staff and other stakeholders to support the goals and operations of the dance team program.
12. Ensure assigned responsibilities are carried out in accordance with University departmental and applicable spirit program policies and procedures.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Strong communication interpersonal facilitation and organizational skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint etc.).
Demonstrates sensitivity.
Must have strong attention to detail and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be a person of integrity and character who shares a commitment for knowing and complying with NCAA Conference and institutional rules.
Ability to work irregular hours.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
Frequent interruptions based on changing priorities; involves occasional exposure to demands and pressures from persons other than immediate supervisor.
Regularly involves lifting bending or other physical exertion. Often exposed to one or more elements such as heat cold noise dirt chemicals etc.
Job frequently requires walking standing lifting sitting reaching talking hearing and handling objects with hands.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
