Assistant Controller

Hardy Corporation a mechanical service contractor for over 75 years has an opportunity for an Assistant Controller to join our team reporting to the Controller.

Responsibilities:

• Ownership of the monthly close and reconciliation process to ensure accurate and timely reporting
• Prepare monthly financial reporting package to Controller
• Lead bi-weekly and quarterly accounting team meetings using EOS/L10 structure
• Identify discrepancies and proactively resolve accounting issues
• Maintain accountability for balance sheet integrity and cash accuracy
• Assist with job cost analysis WIP schedules and project financial reviews
• Support construction-related accounting processes including retainage and contract billing/collections
• Filing state and federal taxes monthly quarterly yearly
• Process yearly W-2 forms 1099 and 1095s
• Preparing Year End Financials working closely with outside CPA
• Assist with Monthly Forecasting and Annual Budget
• Assisting the Controller as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in accounting preferred
• 5 years of accounting experience
• Construction Accounting background preferred
• Advanced Excel skills preferred
• Experience with Spectrum/Viewpoint or construction ERP systems
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Working knowledge of GAAP
• Strong numeracy and analytical skills
• Good problem-solving and time management skills
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Willing to adjust for departmental workload changes
• Ability to work efficiently and multitask

• Bank and balance sheet reconciliations consistently maintained
