Assistant Coach for Spirit Squads will assist in the leadership development and daily operations of Virginia Techs Spirit programs including cheerleaders HIghtechs and the Hokiebird. This position supports student-athlete development game day performance preparation recruiting choreography and administrative operations while promoting a culture of excellence sportsmanship and academic success. The Assistant Coach works collaboratively with athletics administration marketing bands and event management to enhance school spirit and elevate the programs national brand. Will report directly to the Head Coach / Spirit Squads.

Required Qualifications

Previous coaching or instructional experience in Division I dance cheer or spirit programs.
Working knowledge of choreography performance production and game day operations.
Practical familiarity with recruiting and student-athlete development at the collegiate level.
Experience collaborating within a Division I athletics environment.
Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work evenings weekends holidays and travel as required.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelors degree.
CPR/AED certification.
