Assistant Bakery Manager

The Assistant Bakery Manager supports the Bakery Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the Bakery Department. This position assists with production planning merchandising inventory management employee supervision customer service and food safety compliance. The Assistant Bakery Manager helps ensure the department achieves sales profitability quality and service goals while maintaining an attractive clean and fully stocked bakery operation. This role assumes responsibility for department operations in the absence of the Bakery Manager.

• Assist in leading coaching training and developing Bakery Department employees.
• Support recruiting interviewing onboarding and training new team members.
• Provide daily direction feedback and performance coaching.
• Promote a culture of teamwork accountability food safety and customer service excellence.
• Assist with scheduling and labor management to support operational needs.

• Support daily Bakery Department operations including production merchandising and product replenishment.
• Assist in coordinating baking decorating packaging and stocking activities.
• Ensure display cases sales floor displays and backroom areas remain organized clean and fully stocked.
• Monitor product quality freshness presentation and availability.
• Serve as the acting department leader in the absence of the Bakery Manager.

• Monitor product consistency freshness and presentation.
• Support seasonal promotional and specialty bakery programs.
• Ensure custom cake and bakery orders are completed accurately and on time.

• Assist in executing merchandising plans seasonal displays and promotional programs.
• Maintain attractive fully stocked and properly signed bakery displays.
• Monitor sales trends and support initiatives designed to increase department sales.
• Ensure bakery products are displayed according to company merchandising standards.
• Support sales-building activities and customer sampling events as applicable.

• Assist with ordering receiving inventory management and replenishment activities.
• Ensure proper inventory levels are maintained for ingredients supplies and finished products.
• Monitor product rotation and freshness procedures.
• Support shrink reduction initiatives through effective inventory control and production planning.
• Participate in inventory counts and department audits.

• Ensure compliance with all food safety sanitation health department and company requirements.
• Maintain proper storage handling labeling and temperature-control procedures.
• Ensure bakery equipment and work areas are clean sanitized and maintained.
• Promote workplace safety and address hazards promptly.
• Uphold all company operational policies and standards.

• Support achievement of department sales labor shrink and profitability goals.
• Monitor productivity and workflow efficiency.
• Assist in implementing action plans to improve department performance.
