Assistant Athletics Trainer

Position Summary:TheAssistant Athletic Trainerreports to theHead Athletic Trainer.This positionassistsin all aspects of the SportsMedicineDepartment. This position will oversee the health and safety ofstudent-athletesof assigned teams. The specific teams will bedeterminedby theHead Athletic Trainer.This position will alsoassistwith inventory tracking pre-season medicalclearanceand the overall upkeep of the athletic training room.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• MaintainoverallSportsMedicineDepartmentincludinginjury care and prevention injuryevaluationand managementeducating ofstudent-athletes and coaches.

• Maintainaccuratemedical documentation for student-athletes.

• Ensure proper injury and treatment tracking ofstudent-athletes.

• Establish andmaintaingood communicationwith team physicians (Orthopedic and Sports Medicine).

• Contribute to the growth of thedepartment by bringingnew ideasabout Nutrition Cardiac Health Mental Wellness Concussion research etc. to theSportsMedicinestaff.

• Assistin the management of the day-to-day operations of the athletic training room.

• Responsible for proper coverageduringathleticparticipation ofstudent-athletes including practice and game coverage both home and away of assigned teams.

• Assistwith insurance claim filing processas needed.

• Maintain confidentiality of student-athlete injuries and illnesses.

• Perform other duties and responsibilities as.

Required Qualifications:

• BachelororMasters degree inAthleticTraining

• Certification through the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification (NATABOC).

• Twoyears of experience in the athletic training profession.

• AED/CPR Certified (Professional Rescuer).

• Error-free written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Masters Degree in Athletic Trainingor related field.

• Two years of experience working in Division I or Division II collegiate athletics.

• Knowledge ofSportsWareinjury tracking system.

• Experiencemaintainingfiles and documentation.

• Experience with insurance claims andfiling process.

• Experience withmaintainingconfidentiality.

• Excellent verbal communication skills.

Salary for Announcement

Under Colorado law MSU Denver is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role and should not offer a salary outside of the range posted in this job announcement. This range takes into account a variety of factors including but not limited to experience skills knowledge abilities education licensure and certifications analysis of internal equity and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.

The anticipated hiring range is $50000 - $60000.

This position is paid monthly and is eligible for MSU Denver benefits.
