Job Description:
The Department of Pediatrics at The University of Toledo College of Medicine & Life Sciences invites applications for a Pediatric Associate Professor to join our growing academic health system. This faculty position offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced pediatrician to provide exceptional outpatient care while playing a significant role in the education and mentorship of medical students and resident physicians.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to clinical excellence teaching collaboration and advancing the academic mission of the department.
Position Responsibilities:
Clinical Care
- Provide comprehensive outpatient pediatric care at two clinic locations
- Evaluate diagnose and treat acute and chronic pediatric conditions
- Promote preventive health services developmental assessments and wellness care
- Coordinate care with specialists allied health professionals and community providers
- Contribute to quality improvement and patient-centered care initiatives
Teaching and Academic Responsibilities
- Teach supervise and mentor medical students and resident physicians in ambulatory clinical settings
- Participate in formal educational programs lectures case conferences and curriculum development
- Evaluate learner performance and provide meaningful feedback
- Serve as a role model for professionalism patient-centered care and lifelong learning
- Participate in departmental college and institutional academic activities
Faculty Leadership
- Contribute to departmental strategic initiatives and educational advancement
- Mentor junior faculty and learners when appropriate
- Participate in scholarly activity clinical research quality improvement or community outreach programs
Qualifications:
- MD/DO degree from an accredited medical schoolboard Certified in Pediatrics
- Eligible for medical licensure in Ohio
- Academic accomplishments consistent with appointment at the rank of Associate Professor
- Demonstrated excellence in outpatient clinical care and medical education
- Strong communication leadership and collaborative skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous teaching experience with medical students and residents
- Record of scholarly activity publications presentations or quality improvement initiatives
- Experience in faculty leadership curriculum development or educational innovation
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning and clinical environment
