- General Function
The salary indicated above includes longevity (1% earned after five years and increases to a maximum of 4% after 20 years). Additionally a 3.8% cost of living increase has been approved for 2027.
Under the direction and general supervision of the Asset Manager the Asset Management Technician is responsible for providing support with the Citys Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) System. This position is expected to provide technical assistance to EAM users throughout the city conduct data analysis and perform system maintenance as needed. The incumbent is responsible for performing assigned duties in a timely accurate and professional manner; effectively managing competing priorities and changing workloads; exercising initiative in identifying and completing additional work as appropriate; and complying with applicable City policies labor agreements and safety requirements.
- Representative Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Support the administration and ongoing maintenance of the Citys Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system.
- Maintain system data integrity through data analysis quality control reviews system audits and routine data maintenance activities
- Provide technical support and user assistance for EAM system users including troubleshooting issues and recommending solutions.
- Assist with user training and the development of documentation procedures and best practices related to EAM system use.
- Develop implement and maintain business processes workflows and automated solutions that improve operational efficiency data collection and asset management practices.
- Coordinate with field staff supervisors and other departments to develop work plans performance metrics cost-tracking measures and reporting tools to support operational planning budgeting and decision-making
- Test evaluate and assist with the implementation of new system modules applications integrations and workflow enhancements.
- Develop reports dashboards charts and other analytical tools utilizing EAM system data to support operational and strategic objectives.
- Support and maintain integration between the Citys EAM system and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) including coordination with ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online environments.
- Perform GIS-related maintenance data analysis quality assurance and data management activities as assigned.
- Monitor industry trends emerging technologies and best practices related to asset management data management and GIS to support continuous improvement efforts.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
- Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

- Qualifying Education and Experience (Minimum Requirements)
- Applicants must be 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent;
OR possessany combination of education and experience equivalent to:
- A High School Diploma or GED; and
- Two (2) years of experience supporting administering maintaining analyzing or coordinating data asset management systems GIS systems enterprise software applications business processes or related technical programs.
Examples of qualifying education or experience may include coursework certifications or work experience in:
- Asset Management
- Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
- Information Technology (IT)
- Business or Public Administration
- Data Analytics
- Engineering Technology
- Urban Planning
- Public Works Utilities or a closely related field
Equivalent combinations of education training certifications and directly related work experience that demonstrate the knowledge skills and abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the position will be considered.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates or Bachelors degree in GIS Information Technology Business Administration Public Administration Urban Planning Data Analytics Engineering Technology or a related field.
- Experience supporting Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) GIS platforms or other enterprise software applications.
- Experience working in a municipal utility public works or government environment.
- Experience developing reports dashboards workflows system integrations or process improvement initiatives.
- A valid drivers license is required and/or must be obtained by the date of appointment or by a date established by the City.

Physical Requirements
Work is primarily performed in an office environment and requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time; frequently use hands and fingers to operate computers and other office equipment; and communicate effectively through speaking and hearing.
Occasional field visits may require walking on uneven terrain and working outdoors in varying weather conditions including rain wind snow temperature extremes and low-light conditions.
The position requires visual acuity sufficient for computer work reading data analysis and reviewing documents. Occasional walking reaching and lifting or moving objects weighing up to 25 pounds may be required.
Working Conditions
Work is primarily performed in an office environment with frequent interruptions competing priorities and regular interaction with employees customers contractors vendors and members of the public. The position may occasionally involve interactions with individuals who are upset frustrated or confrontational.
The work environment includes exposure to typical office conditions including moderate noise from office equipment conversations and shared workspaces. Work is generally performed in a temperature-controlled setting; however the position may require travel between City facilities and occasional work at alternate City locations.
