EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS MANDATORY
Minimum high school diploma
WORK EXPERIENCE MANDATORY
Minimum two years of experience in a legal environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office software programs (i.e. Word PowerPoint Excel Outlook etc.)
U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain adjudication for the requisite background investigation
Experience and expertise in performing the requisite services
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Contractor shall provide one Asset Investigator to provide investigative support within the Financial Litigation Unit (FLU). Specific duties shall include the following:
- Assist AUSAs by planning and conducting asset investigations to recover assets to satisfydebts imposed in cases handled by the USAO. Asset investigations for restitution includemonies owed to the United States and private victims of crime. Private victims are consideredto be individuals corporations or other non-Government entities. Typical asset investigationsare considered in conjunction with federal and/or state agencies both within and outside theUSAOs geographic jurisdiction. These agencies include without limitation agencies thatengage in the disbursement of direct loans guaranteed loans financial contracts grantprograms where financial responsibility is a factor and general administrative debts such asfines fees overpayment and penalties. The subjects of the investigations may be individualsor corporations.
- Perform a variety of ancillary asset investigation-related services in direct support of financiallitigation such as utilizing electronic databases to identify assets that may be recovered tosatisfy debts imposed in cases handled by the USAOs documents and preparing periodicreports on progress of investigations for use by the USAO and Executive Office for UnitedStates Attorneys management staff.
- Contact and coordinate with other Government officials and private citizens as required
- Prepare reports of findings for attorney review and use in establishing enforcement action tocollect debts owed to the United States.
