Job Summary
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assembles designated products such as stuffing boxes partially or completely working at a bench or on shop floor by performing the following duties:
- Locates and identifies type size and quantity of all components needed to assemble product.
- Assemble equipment according to knowledge of unit being assembled or following blueprints using hand and power tools and some measuring devices.
- Checks completed units insuring proper alignment of parts and components and notes any need for modification.
- Conducts inspections to ensure proper operation of parts.
- Notifies management of malfunctions.
- Assists in trouble shooting noting need for corrective action.
- Conducts hydrostatic tests as required or directed.
- Performs painting of finished product as needed.
- Uses forklift to move freight and/or inventory.
- Other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Reasoning Abilities:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in oral diagram or schedule form.
Other Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to read blueprints
- Knowledge of shop safety practices
- Knowledge of quality assurrance as normally acquired through in-house seminars and training.
- Above average skills in: Retaining Instruction.
- Demonstrated ability to: Progressively Assemble.
- General knowledge of: Mechanical applications.

While performing the duties of this job the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

The employee is regularly required to stand; use hands and fingers handle or feel objects tools or controls talk or hear. Employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop kneel crouchor crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision color vision depth perception and/or the ability to adjust focus.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education:A high school diploma or GED is the minimum requirement often supplemented by vocational or technical school training.
- Ability to pass a drug screen & background check.
