Job Summary

PGS Worldwide is seeking Electronics Assemblers in Buffalo New York for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. These positions will perform precision electronic and electromechanical assembly supporting advanced aerospace and defense systems. Assemblers will work from drawings and build documentation to solder assemble inspect test rework and document complex electronic hardware.

Required Skills

  • 2 years of electronic assembly or related manufacturing experience or an associate degree in Electronics or a related technical discipline.
  • Soldering experience.
  • Experience performing manufacturing or assembly work in a metric-based production environment.
  • Ability to read and follow assembly drawings diagrams written instructions and job aids.
  • Experience using basic production equipment such as soldering stations crimp tools microscopes and ovens.
  • Ability to perform continuity checks on in-process and completed assemblies.
  • Ability to inspect completed work for workmanship and compliance with build documentation.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to accurately document production and quality information.
  • Ability to move objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Ability to successfully complete required in-house workmanship training.

Preferred Skills

  • IPC-A-610 certification.
  • J-STD-001 certification.
  • Class 2 soldering capability.
  • Fine-pitch soldering experience.
  • BGA rework and circuit-card repair experience.
  • Experience performing precision assembly under a microscope.
  • Microelectronics assembly experience.
  • Electromechanical assembly experience.
  • Cable and wire-harness fabrication experience.
  • Experience winding and encapsulating transformers.
  • Strong manual dexterity and ability to work with very small components.

What Youll Do

  • Assemble electronic components using drawings diagrams and approved manufacturing instructions.
  • Perform fine-pitch soldering of circuit-card assemblies as required.
  • Perform BGA rework and repair activities based on production needs.
  • Support manual and automated microelectronics assembly.
  • Perform electromechanical assembly.
  • Fabricate and install semi-rigid wiring and cable harnesses.
  • Support transformer winding and encapsulation activities as required.
  • Conduct continuity checks on assemblies.
  • Inspect work for workmanship and compliance with released documentation.
  • Identify nonconformances and support rework and repair activities.
  • Record production information in travelers shop-floor systems and quality records.
  • Work with technicians engineers and supervisors to clarify build requirements and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Follow applicable ESD FOD safety and cleanliness requirements.

Work Schedule / Shift

  • Second shift: approximately 4:00 PM12:30 AM.
  • Includes an unpaid 30-minute meal period.
  • Schedule may change based on business needs.
  • Full-time onsite in Buffalo New York.
  • No relocation assistance provided.

Pay

  • $24.00 per hour.
