ASD Teacher Assistant Sparta Middle School

• Experience working with students with autism is preferred;
• Ability to be responsible for all student self-care;
• Ability to physically attend to student needs including personal care diapering augmentative communication and assistive technology devices;
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability and willingness to perform recess monitoring bus unloading and lunchroom supervision as necessary;
• Ability to be flexible with varying student needs and schedule changes;
• Effective communication skills with a variety of staff members;
• Ability to work with children in a caring nurturing manner;
• Demonstrates flexibility teamwork and organization;
• Collaborate with teacher to implement differentiated instruction/ASD strategies and supports necessary for meaningful engagement in the school setting
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality;
• Hard working and a team player;
• Experience with behavior data collection and modification is preferred;
• Basic computer skills preferred;
• Ukeru and/or CPI training is preferred;
• High School diploma or equivalent required;
• One of the following preferred:
• 60 credit hours of college credit
• Associates degree
• College Boards SAT score of at least a 480 on evidence-based reading and writing and a 530 on math
• ETS Parapro Assessment with a passing score of 460
