Job Title: ASC Admission Clerk ASC Scheduling Coordinator

Location: Laramie Surgery Center

Report To: Director of ASC

Job Summary

Performs customer service and clerical duties coordinate with ASC Scheduling Team and facilitate Patient Surgery scheduling effectively for Surgery Center.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Patient Communication

  • Greet patient when they arrive for surgery/procedures; perform check-in procedure including verification of patients demographic and contact information
  • Answer phone calls take messages and/or attempt to answer inquiries
  • Help patients sign consents and ABNs


Taking Payments

  • Take payments securely following billing office protocol

Insurance

  • Obtain correct insurance company information such as Workers Compensation vs. commercial insurance including telephone numbers and policy numbers from system.

Patient Documentation

  • Locate and prepare patient charts for the next-day surgeries create charts for new patients and maintain patients charts
  • Enter patient charts into database

Interaction with Other Departments

  • Facilitate communication between physicians medical staff and surgery center staff

Information Processing

Confidentiality/Right to Privacy

  • Observes confidentiality of information in regards to patients physicians therapists and fellow employees. Protect patient sensitivities and right to privacy

Computer Use - Patient Data

  • Use computer to accurately enter maintain and retrieve patient data

  • Participates in Premier Bone & Joint Centers and departmental in-services and staff meetings

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent - Required


Experience

Recent Clinical Experience - Preferred

Monday - Thursday 9:00 am - 6:00 pm Friday 5:00 am - variable.
