Job Summary

Position: Art TeacherJob Status: Full-Time/190 daysClassification: CertifiedClass: ExemptJob Description:To help students facilitate learning through the use of art and establish and maintain instructional goals and objectives according to the Camden Fairview School Districts Art Department. Duties and Responsibilities:Provides art instruction for classes. Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students. Plans a program of study that as much as possible meets the individual needs interests and abilities of the students. Prepares for classes assigned and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate superior. Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups to implement by instruction and action the districts philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives. Maintains accurate complete and correct records as required by law district policy and administrative regulation. Assists the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct and in the classroom develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just staff meetings and serves on staff committees as other related duties as required or professional behavior appearance and work ethic to represent the school district in a positive manner at all accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the jobMaintain professional behavior appearance and work ethic to represent the school district positively at all relentless commitment to the academic achievement of all and maintain an orderly classroom environment that encourages active student and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the districts curriculum lessons that accommodate differences in student learning and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies activities materials and equipment that reflect an understanding of students learning styles and district-approved curriculum based on state frameworks and an assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for special education students according to guidelines established in Individual Education Plans (IEP).Collaborate with other staff members to establish instructional goals objectives and methods according to district and supervise assignments of instructional assistant(s) and volunteer(s).Use technology to strengthen the teaching and learning ongoing assessments of student achievement through interim and formative responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned.
