Job Description Summary
In support of the Student Affairs Learning Outcomes the Argyros Forum Student Union provides programs resources and services to cultivate students connection to the Chapman community knowledge of on-campus involvement opportunities investment in school spirit and pride and overall success as a Chapman student. Along with professional staff and in collaboration with other team members the Video and Content Creator is responsible for conceptualizing producing and editing video content and other forms of digital media to promote a variety of student co-curricular experiences. All Video and Content Creators are employees in the Department of Student Engagement and the Division of Student Affairs. Specific responsibilities include:
Responsibilities
Video and Content Creation Work alongside various departmental areas in Student Engagement to create professional video content for the Argyros Forum Digital Wall located outside the Dean of Students Office. Attend various programs as needed to ensure. Film dynamic B-roll content as evergreen content. Maintain an accurate and updated work log. Save all files to student share folder with the proper file structure. Act as experts in all steps of the video editing process. Ensure captions and branding elements are accurate and clear. Ensure final content is in compliance with appropriate copyright and other laws. Other Responsibilities Assist in other ways with all of the above as determined by supervisor. Promote the use of Student Engagement virtual engagement platforms (e.g. Panther Connect Instagram etc.) Attend all scheduled Argyros Forum Student Union staff meetings and training sessions. Participate in and contribute to Department of Student Engagement programs services experiences and resources as determined by supervisor.
Required Qualifications
Proficiency in video production sound design linear editing and basic graphics. Prior experience and/or completed courses in video content creation/editing software. Commitment to teamwork customer service collaboration conflict resolution and providing service to students. Ability to exercise initiative work independently and hold high standards of dependability and accountability. Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals at all organizational levels both inside and outside the University. Ability to use tact and diplomacy and maintain a high level of confidentiality. Strong time management skills including punctuality to arrive at shifts on-time and the ability to prioritize duties when faced with interruptions distractions and fluctuating workload. Effective written and oral communication skills. Possess attention to detail the ability to accept direction willingness to work and learn from colleagues and supervisor and commitment to apply feedback to work performance. Willingness to accept direction and changes to responsibilities as determined by supervisor. Courteous and confident demeanor when delegating and holding others accountable. Ability to learn and use standard office equipment and various software programs.
