Under general supervision the Archivist supports the acquisition organization preservation and accessibility in the Urban Archives while assisting researchers collaborating with donors and campus partners contributing to outreach efforts and supporting student employees and interns within Special Collections & Archives.
- Accessions archival collections across the unit including creating accession records and other required documentation and performing basic preservation work.
- Processes archival collections including intellectual and physical arrangement.
- Develops finding aids for manuscript and archival collections.
- Engages in ongoing collection evaluation; works with current and potential donors to ensure timely transfer of materials to Special Collections & Archives.
- Assists researchers with ready reference information and directional questions; refers more specialized research questions to other members of the team as necessary.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
