Join us and make a meaningful impactboth in and out of the the director of the Aquatics Director the Aquatics Operations Coordinator is responsible for supporting the safe efficient and compliant operation of the aquatic facilities. This position oversees daily aquatic operations safety protocols staff training and aquatic maintenance while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and organizational policies. The role requires strong organizational skills attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple operational responsibilities in a fast-paced aquatic YOU WILL DO:Aquatic Facility Operations & SafetyOversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of all pool continuous surveillance of pools to ensure patron safety and respond promptly and appropriately in regular inspections of pools and surrounding areas and identify and report unsafe conditions or and adjust pool water chemistry; accurately interpret readings from gauges flow meters and monitoring operational efficiency of filtration and recirculation and maintain logs related to chemical levels maintenance activities and safety proper storage usage and handling of pool chemicals in accordance with safety regulations to minimize all facility rules regulations and safety policies & DocumentationPrepare and maintain accurate activity and incident reports including health department forms and sign-in the management of identification cards waivers and health/incident accordance with the laws of the State of Maryland and Baltimore County ensure that routine pool maintenance and sanitation/disinfection are conducted Training & CertificationOversee lifeguard training programs in-service sessions and teach lifeguarding classes to ensure staff maintain high performance and safety track and maintain all staff certifications including Lifeguard CPR First Aid and AED and facilitate certification renewals and recertification courses in compliance with regulatory and organizational all training materials and practices align with current industry standards and safety inventory related to certification classes and seasonal pool openings and closings ensuring mechanical and structural proposals for parts repairs and maintenance track submissions and & Customer ServiceUnder the supervision of the Aquatics Director develop and administer a maintenance and service plan for equipment related to operations and Certifications including the purchase of supplies and the direction of the Aquatics Director review and update the Emergency Action Plan for the Owings Mills aquatics facility and ensure that staff are properly trained and drilled in its special events and departmental activities as exceptional customer service to members patrons and as a lifeguard and/or WSI as needed and support the lifeguard team to ensure safe and effective other duties as YOU ARE:Minimum age of 21 years (exceptionally qualified candidates 18 will be considered).High school diploma or GED of two (2) years of experience as a lifeguard and pool Lifeguard Lifeguard Instructor First Aid CPO and CPR for the Professional Rescuer certifications (LGIT preferred) communication organizational problem-solving and leadership to build and maintain positive relationships with staff students parents and community to work flexible hours including evenings weekends and to complete additional training as required. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced high-pressure environment with constant DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:Ability to move equipment and supplies weighing up to 25 lbs. Comfort working in and around water including swimming performing basic water rescue skills and maintaining balance on the pool deck. Ability to work in bright light conditions. Specific vision abilities required include close vision distance vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust exposed to various environmental elements including heat cold noise dust dirt and pool chemicals. Requires consistent adherence to safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as masks safety glasses gloves and ear protection. Potential exposure to conditions that could result in injury requiring professional medical treatment; strict compliance with safety procedures is essential at all staff work primarily in hot and humid conditions. Indoor pool areas may have reduced air quality due to chloramines and ammonia compounds produced during the water disinfection process. The noise level is typically high.
