Overview
We are seeking a senior SAP Platform Manager to lead the technical strategy governance and day-to-day operations of a complex SAP environment with a strong emphasis on SAP Basis and cloud-based ERP platforms. This role will serve as the central point of coordination between internal IT teams business stakeholders cloud providers and external partners to ensure a secure reliable and scalable SAP ecosystem.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in SAP platform management strong technical expertise in Basis and infrastructure and a background supporting modern SAP cloud deployments in a global environment.
This position follows a hybrid schedule with a mix of on-site and remote work.
Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
- Define and manage the SAP platform strategy roadmap and operational model across core ERP systems analytics platforms databases and integration layers
- Oversee daily platform operations including system performance availability monitoring capacity planning and disaster recovery
- Coordinate with cloud providers and external partners to manage service delivery SLAs escalations and maintenance activities
- Lead technical initiatives including system upgrades migrations and platform enhancements aligned with modern SAP architecture standards
- Ensure system security compliance and audit readiness through proper governance access controls and risk mitigation practices
- Collaborate with functional development and architecture teams to support scalable and reliable solutions for business initiatives
- Manage distributed and offshore support teams including workload allocation performance monitoring and continuous improvement efforts
- Establish and maintain operational standards documentation and best practices for SAP platform management
- Drive incident problem and change management processes including root cause analysis and long-term resolution strategies
- Act as a primary escalation point for critical system issues coordinating resolution across technical and business teams
- Support enterprise transformation initiatives and major system deployments
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between technology solutions and business needs
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology Computer Science Engineering or a related field
- 15 years of experience working with SAP platforms with a strong focus on Basis administration and technical operations
- Hands-on experience supporting modern SAP cloud environments (e.g. S/4HANA or similar platforms)
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure vendor-managed services and shared responsibility models
- Proven experience leading SAP platform or Basis teams in distributed or global environments
- Deep technical expertise in system administration performance tuning transport management monitoring and high availability strategies
- Solid understanding of SAP databases integration components and enterprise architecture concepts
- Familiarity with SAP security user access controls and compliance requirements
- Experience working with external vendors system integrators and cloud providers on large-scale initiatives
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Demonstrated leadership and vendor management capabilities with a focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement
