Application Engineer

As an Application Engineer a typical day might include the following:

• Train and support SEL customers sales channel and engineering services staff (internal and external) on Networking and Cybersecurity products and technologies.

• Maintain an understanding of industry technology and SEL products.

• Author service bulletins application literature instruction manuals and data sheets.

• Perform competitive analysis.

• Develop project use cases.

• Establish and perform validation testing.

• Create product demonstrations.

• Participate in the preparation of technical proposals and commercial bids.

• Contribute to existing and new product specifications.

• Perform special studies and tests as needed by customers.

• Participate in SEL sales and marketing activities and industry technical meetings and conferences.

• Develop training courses and best-known methods for network engineering

This job might be for you if:

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline or equivalent experience

• Understanding of operational technology networking and cybersecurity

• 2 years working knowledge of Ethernet-based communication practices and philosophies

• Excellent technical training speaking documentation and writing skills

• Willingness to travel 25%

• Strong writing documentation and speaking skills

• Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities

• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
