This position will provide coverage at Lifescape two mornings per week in addition to primary care general pediatrics at MB2 Childrens.

Summary

The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner provides advanced nursing care to infants children and adolescents. The PNP assesses diagnoses treats and manages acute and chronic illnesses while promoting health and wellness in pediatric patients. Working in collaboration with pediatricians and healthcare teams the PNP supports families through education and advocacy.

Job Description

Perform thorough physical examinations and health assessments for children of all ages. Diagnose and treat common pediatric illnesses and injuries. Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as labs X-rays and screenings. Manage chronic conditions such as asthma diabetes and developmental disorders. Provide immunizations preventive care and anticipatory guidance. Educate patients and families on nutrition growth development and disease prevention. Coordinate referrals to specialists and community resources as needed. Document patient care accurately in the electronic health record. Participate in health promotion and disease prevention programs. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.

Qualifications

Masters or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. If APRN was licensed prior to August 1 1995 masters degree in nursing is preferred.

Experience in pediatric primary care preferred.

Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in each state of practice. Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe controlled substances in each state of practice. State Controlled Substance License (if required by State) National board certification as Pediatric Primary Care (CPNP-PC) or (PPCNP-BC) Family (FNP-C) or (FNP-BC) Obtains and subsequently maintains required specific competencies and certifications as outlined on privilege form. Privileging documents and related credentialing requirements will supersede this job description in defining minimum qualifications criteria and scope of practice if variation between documents exists.
