    REPORTS TO: Athletics Director
    PAY TYPE: Stipend Non-Supervisory
    PAY RATE: Based upon the WLCSC Master Teacher Contract (see attachment)
    BENEFITS: Not eligible
    SCHEDULE: Seasonal; Hours vary based upon practices events and program needs

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Promotes sportsmanship academic excellence and professionalism among team members as representatives of the West Lafayette Jr./Sr. High School
    • Train students throughout the season
    • Maintain the safety of all participants
    • Work with other coaches throughout the season
    • Attends mandatory meetings and training sessions as scheduled
    • Communicate effectively with participants and other coaches
    • Deliver excellent customer service to all that utilize the athletic facilities and serve our diverse population
    • Handle all incidents in a manner appropriate to your training
    • Other duties as assigned

    JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

    • Education Training and Experience Required:
      • Preferred prior experience in the athletic activity of choosing
      • Must meet all head coaching requirements established by the IHSAA & IDOE
      • Completion of InSideOut Initiative training required (or willingness to complete upon hire)
      • Displays excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor
    • Knowledge Skills Abilities and Worker Characteristics:
      • Displays a positive enthusiastic and motivating attitude toward student-athletes
      • Ability to work collaboratively as a part of a coaching staff and athletic department
      • Displays strong organizational skills dependability and punctuality
      • Commitment to mentoring students and fostering a culture of dedication and hard work
      • Knowledge of and the ability to demonstrate skills in sports
      • Knowledge of sports equipment physical fitness and safety
      • Ability to work independently and possess energy and enthusiasm

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    • Position works in school gymnasiums athletic fields and school building environments
    • May occasionally be exposed to loud noise levels typical of athletic events practices and competitions
