Position: 6th Grade English Language Arts (ELA)
Location: Mountain View Middle School
Certification Required: Middle Level English Language Arts 4-8 or appropriate Pennsylvania certification
Mountain View Middle School is seeking a collaborative learner-centered educator to join our 6th Grade English Language Arts team. The successful candidate will provide engaging standards-aligned literacy instruction that develops students as confident readers writers communicators and critical thinkers while supporting their transition into middle school.
Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of middle-level learners and effective English Language Arts instruction. The successful candidate will use a variety of instructional and assessment practices to meet individual learner needs provide meaningful feedback and create opportunities for learners to take an active role in their learning.
Primary Responsibilities and Qualifications:
- Valid Pennsylvania teaching certification appropriate for the assignment.
- Plan and deliver instruction aligned with district curriculum and Pennsylvania Academic Standards.
- Provide effective instruction in reading writing speaking listening vocabulary and language development.
- Use formative and summative assessment data to identify learner needs differentiate instruction and provide appropriate intervention or enrichment.
- Create a classroom environment built on positive relationships clear expectations consistent routines and high levels of student engagement.
- Design learning experiences that encourage critical thinking collaboration communication creativity and student ownership.
- Effectively integrate instructional technology and digital resources to enhance teaching and learning.
- Collaborate as part of a grade-level team content-area department and professional learning community to support student achievement.
- Communicate effectively and proactively with students families colleagues and support staff.
- Support inclusive practices and work collaboratively with special education reading intervention and other support personnel.
- Demonstrate a commitment to professional growth reflection and continuous improvement.
