Albemarle is hiring for an Analytical R&T Chemist I in Kings Mountain NC (Technical Center). This position will be onsite.

What you will do

• Conduct sampling preparation and analysis of materials using advanced analytical techniques such as ICP-OES PSD titration BET and TGA

• Maintain a safe clean and organized laboratory while adhering to all HS&E policies and standard operating procedures

• Develop optimize and validate analytical methods to support materials characterization and research initiatives

• Operate calibrate and maintain laboratory instrumentation to ensure accurate and reliable data generation

• Collaborate with cross-functional R&D and technical teams to meet project goals and timelines

• Analyze and interpret experimental data clearly communicating findings to internal stakeholders

• Document experimental procedures results and observations in laboratory notebooks and electronic systems

What you bring

Required:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Chemistry Materials Science Chemical Engineering or a related scientific discipline

• At least 1 year of laboratory experience working with chemicals and analytical instrumentation

• Strong commitment to laboratory safety and experience following safety protocols and audits

• Ability to manage multiple priorities maintain detailed records and communicate results effectively

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook) and general computer skills

Itd be great if you also have:

• Experience working with advanced analytical instrumentation and materials characterization techniques

• Familiarity with method development and validation in a research or industrial laboratory setting

• Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams

• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills

• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-based environment

• Experience documenting work in electronic lab notebooks or data management systems

• Good manual dexterity and ability to handle delicate laboratory equipment
