Albemarle is hiring for an Analytical R&T Chemist I in Kings Mountain NC (Technical Center). This position will be onsite.
What you will do
Conduct sampling preparation and analysis of materials using advanced analytical techniques such as ICP-OES PSD titration BET and TGA
Maintain a safe clean and organized laboratory while adhering to all HS&E policies and standard operating procedures
Develop optimize and validate analytical methods to support materials characterization and research initiatives
Operate calibrate and maintain laboratory instrumentation to ensure accurate and reliable data generation
Collaborate with cross-functional R&D and technical teams to meet project goals and timelines
Analyze and interpret experimental data clearly communicating findings to internal stakeholders
Document experimental procedures results and observations in laboratory notebooks and electronic systems
What you bring
Required:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Chemistry Materials Science Chemical Engineering or a related scientific discipline
At least 1 year of laboratory experience working with chemicals and analytical instrumentation
Strong commitment to laboratory safety and experience following safety protocols and audits
Ability to manage multiple priorities maintain detailed records and communicate results effectively
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook) and general computer skills
Itd be great if you also have:
Experience working with advanced analytical instrumentation and materials characterization techniques
Familiarity with method development and validation in a research or industrial laboratory setting
Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-based environment
Experience documenting work in electronic lab notebooks or data management systems
Good manual dexterity and ability to handle delicate laboratory equipment
