What you will be doing:
The Department of Health (DOH) is seeking a dynamic creative individual to fill a key Analyst/Programmer 4 position. As the Analyst Programmer 4 you will primarily utilize the technology stack and SQL Server. Your experience and responsibilities will include strong SQL Server skills the ability to manage rapidly changing priorities strong analytical skills and outstanding written and oral communication skills. We are looking for a capable teammate willing to grow and learn as they meet the goals of our organization.

Who we are looking for:
The ideal candidate will possess some or all of the following position-specific competencies in addition to the minimum qualifications listed below:- Software Development:Knowledge of the principles methods and tools for designing developing and testing software in a given environment.

- Information Assurance: Knowledge of methods and procedures to protect information systems and data by ensuring their availability authentication confidentiality and integrity.

This position requires the use of the Alaska Public Safety Information Network (APSIN). A security clearance issued by the Department of Public Safety (DPS) is necessary to use APSIN. DPS will deny security clearance for any applicant who has been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor in this state or another jurisdiction or who may be a fugitive from justice. Additionally security clearance will be withdrawn if DPS discovers that material information was falsified or omitted at the time of the initial application for security clearance.Four years of computer programming experience in a recognized computer language. One year of this experience must have been in a business application scientific application microcomputer or computer information management support specialty.
Substitution:
A bachelors degree with a major in Computer Science (CS) or Computer Information Systems (CIS) or a related degree with (18) semester/(24) quarter hours of CS or CIS may substitute for one year of the required experience. An associates degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems may substitute for nine months of the required experience.
Special Note:
An applicant who is considered under the Substitution above qualifies to apply for this job class IF the applicable coursework is completed within three (3) months of hire. Under this option an applicant may receive a conditional job offer; however proof of completion will be required prior to final appointment and reporting for duty.
Individual positions at each level in this class series may require expertise in a particular area of programming or analysis. Recruitment and selection will be on the basis of these requirements.
