Job Summary
This position is based in our Philadelphia PA office and mayworka hybrid work arrangement; travel to client sites may be required on occasion.
TheAnalyst orSenior Analystwill support our Structured Products Groupassistingwithresearch analysis and execution of investment strategies for municipal bond proceedsand marketing / RFP candidates will be expected to be nimble in a fast-paced environment in which they are given significant responsibility working across a wide range of clients andprojects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review bond documents forpermittedinvestments valuation methodologies flows of funds and other factors that drive investment analysis and recommendations.
- Build the documentation necessary for complexfinancialtransactions including bidding specifications and/or term sheets bidding agent certificates pricing analysis reports and other work products required by our clients and their bond/tax counsel.
- Assistwith the development of contracts invoices and business analytics.
- Proficiently use DBCPortOptsoftware for a broad range of municipal bond structures and bond proceeds investment strategies.
- Create and manage Excel spreadsheets and models for analyzinginvestment alternativesand presentingvariousscenarios.
- Use Excel visualbasic& macrostooptimizemodeling and quantitative analysis in an efficient manner.
- Support client marketing and proposal efforts through the development ofanalysis and corresponding presentation materials.
- Organize prioritize and schedule work for each client project and/or financing transaction.
- Work seamlessly withteam memberswho travelfrequently have varying levels of in-office presenceand may be based indifferent offices.
- Coordinate information flow between staff clients and PFM project managersthroughout the country.
- Complete assignmentsin a timely mannerand communicate assignment progress with internal staff on a regular basis.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college/university(minimumGPA of 3.5 preferred).
- Commitment to ethical conduct and servingclientneeds ahead of your own.
- Ability to be productive both independently and in a team environment.
- Intellectual curiosity and a flexible schedule to accommodate a demanding work environment.
- Demonstrated interest in the capital markets with strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- MSRB Series 50 certification or ability to obtain certification withinapproximately four monthsof hire withassistancefrom PFM.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. for any employer without visa sponsorship now or in the future.
- Expertisewith MS Office applications including Outlook Word Excel and PowerPoint.

- Willingness to learn a specialized financial field and continually increase knowledge and responsibilities.

PRACTICE OVERVIEW
PFMs Structured Products Group(the SPG) provides a comprehensive set of services related to bond proceeds investments including the competitive procurement of securities for escrows construction accounts capitalized interest funds reserve funds etc. For each client we carefully consider their investmentobjectivespermittedinvestments liquidity needs and arbitrage rebate and yield restriction constraints (as applicable). We draw on live market information from Bloomberg andutilizea combination of Excel models and portfolio optimization software to develop sample portfolios and breakeven analyses (as applicable) to evaluate with our clients. Based upon the feedback we receive we develop a customized investment strategy that mayutilizeUnited States Treasury Securities State and Local Government Series (SLGS) open-market securities such as Treasury Notes or a combination of the two. Open-market securities areprocuredon a competitive basisin an attempt toachieve the best possible pricing while also providing thorough documentation of the process conducted.

Theanticipatedbase salary forthe Analystrole is$72000. For applicants with relevant experience theanticipatedbase salary for the Senior Analyst role isbetween $80000 - $90000; thisposition is eligible for annual performance-based bonuses. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills experience qualifications and geographic location.
