About the role

Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Regular Full-Time Analyst SAP Business Systems III Human Resourcesto join our dynamic IT Internal Customer Experience team within our Digital Solutions and Technology Division.


The IT Internal Customer Experience team is responsible for managing the delivery and operation of SAP services related to employee experience and productivity making IT more effective reliable and consistent.

Reporting to the Manager IT Productivity Applications you will be responsible for the HR functional area: Human Resources Organization Management Benefits Performance Management and SuccessFactors. You will be responsible for supporting the use of SAP and its various platforms at Canadian Blood Services. This includes supporting SAP & SuccessFactors end users conducting analysis of master data resolving user-related issues modifying existing SAP functionality and adding new capabilities.


Formula for success

  • Utilizing your excellent time management skills you will receive and respond to SAP super-user and end-user requests for third-level support and provide steps for resolution.
  • Leveraging your interpersonal skills you will assess client requirements and participate in requirement review meetings related to SAP HR system changes to be made in SAP ECC environment and/or SuccessFactors (Recruiting Onboarding Learning).
  • Drawing on your critical thinking skills you will determine possible solutions estimate and scope IT effort perform configuration and maintain related documentation (functional specifications report mockups security requirements configuration steps expected results workplans).
    Collaborating with the IT team members you will conduct SAP system testing for your functional area and develop test plans for all phases of testing as appropriate to the system change: unit integration user acceptance and regression testing.
  • Drawing on your expertise you will provide technical support to Talent Acquisition Specialists HR Support representatives and Learning Administrators for issues related to SuccessFactors Recruiting Management Onboarding and Learning modules (including process flows onboarding tasks forms and new hire data flows business rules workflows and Role based permissions).
  • Applying your analytical skills you will participate in the evaluation of the release notes from SAP SuccessFactors and prepare for SF releases.


Desired education and skills

  • Post-secondary level education in a discipline relevant to the functional area being supported from a recognized academic institution or equivalent experience (Information Technology Business Administration Computer Science Human Resources).
  • Minimum 4 years of experience supporting the SAP ECC including configuration. Hands-on SAP configuration experience must include IMG pay scale configuration organization management relationships and infotypes evaluation paths benefit enrollment and plans LSMW screen modifications dynamic actions point of integration personnel actions infotypes authorization and audit logs.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience supporting SuccessFactors Recruiting Onboarding and/or Learning in an IT support role (support troubleshooting and system enhancements) including SAP SF Integration in at least 1 full cycle of a SuccessFactors implementation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word Excel Teams Outlook).
  • Ability to conduct business professionally and develop strong working relationships with clients and team members and relay technical information to a non-technical audience.
    Excellent problem analysis planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to understand and troubleshoot SAP points of integration.
    Strong understanding of data replication and integration between SuccessFactors modules and other HR systems (SAP ECC environment) and SAP ECC to third-party systems.
  • Knowledge of SAP Security roles and authorization is considered an asset (Single role composite roles).

What you can expect

  • This role will work in a hybrid environment with requirements to be onsite at a Canadian Blood Services location at least 40% of the time/2 days of the week.
  • You will work Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week 7.5 hours per day.
  • If you are located outside of Ottawa you may be expected to travel to our office location in Ottawa annually for in-person team meetings when required.
  • May be required to work occasionally on weekends (for cutover activities deployment of SAP configuration changes or upgrades).
