Ammonia Refrigeration Technician 2nd or 3rd shift

A food manufacturer is seeking an Ammonia Refrigeration Technician to operate maintain and repair its industrial refrigeration and utility systems. The primary focus is ammonia refrigeration within a production environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate troubleshoot repair and maintain industrial ammonia refrigeration systems.
• Work with compressors condensers evaporators vessels valves VFDs and PLC-based controls.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance.
• Identify leaks equipment failures and system inefficiencies.
• Maintain refrigeration logs readings work orders and repair documentation.
• Follow PSM EPA/RMP OSHA GMP and ammonia-safety requirements.
• Support HVAC boilers chillers air compressors water systems and other plant utilities.
• Respond to urgent equipment issues and minimize production downtime.
• Participate in system startups shutdowns inspections audits and emergency-response procedures.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of industrial ammonia refrigeration experience.
• Experience in food manufacturing or cold storage strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of screw and reciprocating compressors evaporators condensers VFDs and controls.
• Understanding of PSM/RMP requirements and ammonia-safety practices.
• Ability to read P&IDs blueprints schematics and technical manuals.
• Strong independent troubleshooting and mechanical skills.
• CARO CIRO RETA or similar ammonia refrigeration certification strongly preferred.
• PLC and industrial automation experience is a plus.
• Available for on-call work weekends and overtime when required.
• Able to work around temperature extremes chemicals noise and manufacturing equipment and lift up to 50 pounds.
• HR NOTE: Flexible and based on experience. Target is up to $90000; up to $120000 may be considered for an exceptional fully licensed/certified candidate. Relocation is fone.
