Alumni Relations and Engagement Program Intern (Student and Recent Grad (SRG) Engagement)

Job Summary
The Wisconsin Foundation and Alumni Association (WFAA*) the private fundraising and alumni relations organization for UW-Madison is seeking an Alumni Relations and Engagement Program Intern! This position will assist with a variety of projects including but not limited to programming and event planning the Recent Grad Council and connecting with campus partners current students alumni and more. The internship offers the opportunity to network with influential alumni while gaining valuable programming experience.
Hours: Monday-Friday 10 hours per week during the school year with additional hours possible during breaks and over the summer. Additional hours are available during Student and Recent Grad team hosted events. Flexibility of scheduling working around class schedules and academic or other obligations will be offered.
Who is WFAA
The Wisconsin Foundation and Alumni Association is a private nonprofit corporation that encourages individuals and organizations to make gifts to the university and to connect with the 2014 the UW Foundation merged with the Wisconsin Alumni Association to better serve a growing population of UW alumni and donors. We believe that private support grows out of good relationships between campus leaders faculty and program staff who need support and the alumni and friends who want to invest in UWMadison. We provide important engagement opportunities to link UWMadison alumni to each other and to their alma mater building a strong community of Badgers.

- Support and assist with programs and activities driven by the Student Recent Grad (SRG) team:
- Wisconsin Welcome Initiatives
- The W Project
- New Student Ice Cream Social
- Commencement Initiatives (Winter & Spring)
- WFAA Homecoming Programming
- Recent Grad Weekend (Summer schedule permitting)
- Badger Meet Up Events
- Recent Grad Council administrative support
- Wisconsin Alumni Student Board(WASB) initiatives
- Wisconsin Welcome Initiatives
- Assist with communicating with students and recent grads via email phone and in-person
- Assist with the WFAA event set-up and tear-down
- Support assist and represent WFAA at campus partner-sponsored events/ activities
- Create impact and activity reports following key programming
- Attend biweekly team meetings
- Perform other duties in support of the organizational mission and university advancement.
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary degree program.
- Strong writing skills
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Other Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in leadership and involvement on campus
- Knowledge and experience in event planning and implementation
- Ability to effectively collaborate with diverse co-workers campus and community partners and alumni constituents to achieve shared objectives.
- Creating presentations or reports.
- Organizing shared digital files.
- Familiarity with UW-Madison traditions and student life.
