Description

The Alumni Engagement Manager works collaboratively with the Director of Alumni Engagement to develop and execute alumni engagement strategies programs and events that advance Charlotte Latins institutional and fundraising goals. The Manager will coordinate and implement a variety of alumni initiatives building increasing responsibility and ownership over time with the support and mentorship of the Director of Alumni Engagement. This position is ideal for an early-career professional who is enthusiastic about relationship building event planning communications and community engagement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Event Programming & Management

  • Coordinate and implement a variety of alumni engagement events programs and special initiatives in partnership with the Director of Alumni Engagement. Responsibilities include planning and executing Alumni Town Hall alumni athletic games and the Young Alumni Holiday Party while supporting Reunion Weekend Hawks on Tap the Athletic Hall of Fame Alumni Art Show and other alumni engagement opportunities.
  • Manage the Inlustrate Orbem awards overseeing the process of nominating identifying recognizing and celebrating distinguished faculty
  • Coordinate alumni participation in school wide events including graduation school assemblies and classroom speaking engagements.

Marketing & Communications

  • Develop and implement an alumni marketing and communications strategy in partnership with Marketing & Communications to drive engagement and program awareness. Manage the alumni social media strategy and content calendar creating engaging content that highlights alumni programs events accomplishments and opportunities for involvement.
  • Utilize multiple platforms for outreach including social media the Latin Line newsletter and alumni content for the school magazine.
  • Create digital and print marketing assets and manage targeted email distributions. Ensure institutional brand standards are maintained.
  • Monitor the alumni pages of the website. Make necessary updates to ensure all alumni platforms are current. Promote the Charlotte Latin Alumni LinkedIn group.

Fundraising & Development Support

  • Collaborate with the Latin Fund team to implement strategies for increased giving.
  • Support project management and execution for Fly Day the schools annual giving day.
  • Assist with the Collins Cup challenge through direct solicitation and coordinating promotional efforts.
  • Identify philanthropic prospects among alumni and parents of alumni in partnership with the Advancement Office.

Volunteer Leadership & Board Relations

  • Support the recruitment engagement and stewardship of Alumni Governing Board members and Class Agents in partnership with the Director of Alumni Engagement.
  • Coordinate logistics for AGB meetings and collaborate with the Director of Alumni Engagement to implement engagement strategies.
  • Work with AGB subcommittees and chairs to advance specific objectives and project plans.
  • Manage recruitment and communication for the Class Agent program.
  • Support LatinRedde a specific AGB initiative and highlight its alumni connections.

Student & Young Alumni Engagement

  • Educate graduating students about the lifelong relationship with the school and the benefits of being part of the alumni body.
  • Implement alumni-to-student ambassador programs including the College Ambassador program.
  • Encourage mentorship and volunteer service throughout the alumni body. Support LatinRedde an Alumni Governing Board initiative.
  • Manage internal list of alumni engagement interests.

Data Management:

  • Maintain update and verify accurate and complete alumni contact information in the alumni database and effectively track event and engagement data.

This individual is comfortable creating content for digital and social media platforms managing multiple projects simultaneously and representing Charlotte Latin with professionalism and enthusiasm. This position is ideal for an early-career professional looking to grow their skills in alumni relations communications fundraising event management and volunteer engagement.

Individuals who thrive in this role enjoy building relationships and creating meaningful experiences for others. They recognize that some of the strongest alumni connections are built beyond the school day and are comfortable with occasional evening weekend school holiday and other nontraditional work hours.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree required.
  • Experience in event planning social media management communications marketing alumni relations fundraising or a related field preferred.
  • Relevant experience may be gained through professional employment internships volunteer service campus organizations or other leadership experiences.
  • Experience with CRM databases social media platforms Canva or related communications tools is a plus.

Working Conditions and Environment
