Alternative Investments – Fund Engagement Associate

Job Summary
This role sits within Wealth Managements Alternative Investments business supporting products such as hedge funds digital assets private equity private credit and private real estate. The Fund Engagement Associate partners with fund managers fund administrators and internal teams to ensure reporting of alternative investment products on the Wealth Management platform adheres to best practices. The associate will seek to improve the operating environment through structured problem-solving controls and effective escalation.
Key Responsibilities
Own day-to-day engagement with Fund Managers and Fund Administrators to drive an efficient well-governed operational experience across ongoing fund reporting issue resolution and fund servicing
Develop deep product and platform expertise across the Alternative Investments suite including the systems and processes that support capital activity valuations transfers subscriptions redemptions and investor reporting
Perform detailed analysis of position- and fund-level cash flows investor-level performance reporting and related data to identify issues trends and opportunities for remediation
Support quarterly review and maintenance of UHNW client accounts ensuring data quality reporting accuracy and timely resolution of operational breaks
Use the Alternative Investments Reconciliation System AIRS and other platform tools to research analyze and remediate illiquid valuation breaks and related reporting discrepancies
Meet regularly with external funds and fund administrators to address systematic reporting or process errors and drive accountability for timely correction
Diagnose and solve complex business and operational issues by gathering relevant information performing analysis and translating findings into practical recommendations and action plans
Collaborate closely with teams across AICS and other internal partners to identify inefficiencies strengthen controls and support initiatives that improve platform operations and readiness
Establish controls and drive accountability for assigned initiatives including milestones risk tracking and progress reporting to help limit risk exposure
Escalate issues and events to appropriate partners including senior business managers senior risk managers legal and third parties as needed to ensure timely awareness and resolution
Required Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively take initiative manage multiple priorities and execute in a fast-paced high-demand environment
Highly motivated and well-organized; able to execute with minimal supervision prioritize effectively and deliver within established timeframes
Strong partnering skills including the ability to work with SMEs teammates external funds and fund administrators to shape deliverables and identify the right path to completion
Strong problem-solving skills including identifying risks early and developing actionable mitigation plans
Strong analytical skills and experience using objective data to identify breaks evaluate reporting accuracy and drive recommendations
Strong communication skills written and verbal including the ability to explain complex topics concisely to audiences of varying seniority
Strong client and stakeholder management skills and comfort working with colleagues at all levels
Securities Industry Essentials SIE Series 7 and Series 66 or equivalent preferred but not required

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $70000 and $115000 per year at the commencement of employment. However base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package which depending on the position may also include commission earnings incentive compensation discretionary bonuses other short and long-term incentive packages and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
