Job Summary

POSITION: School Secretary

LOCATION: Kenowa Hills Alpine Elementary

HOURS: Monday-Friday (25 hrs/week; less than 44 weeks/year; 10:40-3:40 roughly)

RATE OF PAY:Per Board Authorized Support Staff Pay Schedule

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects on an ongoing basis.
  • Possesses a friendly outgoing personality with the ability to communicate effectively and develop positive relationships with parents students & staff.
  • Ability to generate and manage a secondary class schedule
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills. Detail oriented.
  • Proven confidentiality strong analytical and problem solving skills are needed.
  • An Associates or Bachelors Degree and successful secretarial experience are preferred.
  • Must possess a sound knowledge of spelling grammar and punctuation via written or orally.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team on group projects when necessary.
  • The ability to work flexible hours and an excellent work attendance record is required.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in the use of Power School and Microsoft programs.

WORK LOCATION REQUIREMENT
This position is an in-person role and requires regular on-site attendance at the assigned work location. The essential functions of this position cannot be performed remotely.

This position requires the ability to:

  • Stand walk and move throughout the school day across classrooms and intervention spaces
  • Sit bend kneel or work at student level during small group or individual instruction
  • Use hands and arms to operate instructional materials technology and assessment tools
  • Communicate effectively with students staff and families

The work environment may include:

  • Providing instruction in a variety of settings including classrooms and small group intervention spaces
  • Frequent transitions and movement between instructional groups
  • Moderate to occasionally high noise levels

This role also requires:

  • Supporting students with a range of academic needs including students who may require redirection or support with engagement

The employee will occasionally lift and/or move instructional materials and equipment (up to 25 pounds).
