Job Summary

The Texarkana Arkansas School District is seeking applicants for a Aircraft Manufacturing Technology Instructor teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

1. Pass a national criminal background check;

2. Pass a background check of the Arkansas Child Maltreatment Central Registry;

3. Possess an Arkansas educator license in any area or possess a Bachelors degree with willingness to seeking alternative Arkansas educator licensure;

4. Possess strong technical aptitude and be comfortable learning teaching and guiding students through the aircraft construction process.

5. Possess the ability to facilitate hands-on project based instruction is essential.

Education and Certifications

No aviation-specific education or certifications are required at the time of hire. However the selected candidate will be expected to obtain the Light Sport Repairman-Maintenance(LSRM) certification through Texarkana College once the program receives approval from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Special Knowledge and Skills

An interest in aviation aerospace or advanced manufacturing is highly desirable. The successful candidate should demonstrate strong problem-solving skills mechanical aptitude effective communication and a willingness to learn new technical concepts and instructional practices.

Preferred Experience

Experience in aviation or related technical fields is preferred but not required. Candidates with experience in aircraft kit building model aircraft construction mechanical trades manufacturing engineering or other hands-on technical disciplines are encouraged to apply. Experience teaching or mentoring students in a project-based learning environment is also beneficial.
