Reporting to the manager of Maintenance and Operations the Air conditioning/Refrigeration Technician (Technician)is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all refrigeration systems and associated air conditioning units within the Nova Scotia Health. The Technicians work independently and/or with others to repair install and maintain refrigeration/air conditioning systems including all electrical components controls and related equipment. The Technician is required to work with minimum supervision and must be able to make competent decisions including troubleshooting/repairing equipment adapting quickly to priority situations while working under constant deadlines to provide and maintain services critical to direct patient care and building systems.
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Refrigeration Air Conditioning Journeyperson Red Seal
- Minimum of one year post journeyperson experience is required
- Knowledge of building code standards OH&S and refrigeration systems and components (i.e. domestic & industrial). Systems operate on the Freon family of refrigerants
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to operate various motor vehicles machinery tools and equipment related to the work environment
- Excellent communication (oral and written) organizational and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to promoting a culture of respect that supports safety ethical practices cultural awareness and organizational health
- Competencies in other languages is an asset French preferred

- Travel: Up to 25%
$33.68 - $39.44 hourly
