Qualifications:

College hours forTitle I campus48 required or a score of 464 on the ParaPro test

College hours high school diploma or GED preferred fornon-Title I campus.

Fluent in both oral and written English and Arabic

Ability to work with students and teachers

Ability to manage a flexible schedule

School office experience or volunteer experience preferred

Strong organizational skills

Ability to work within deadlines

Paraprofessional aide certificate required once employed

Primary Purpose:

The primary purpose of this position is to collaborate with the Campus EB Specialist ESL teacher and core content-area teacher(s) to provide high-quality ESL support to elementary EB students. Additionally provide exception language support at the districts discretion.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with ESL and content teachers in the classroom as needed.
2. Facilitate targeted small group instruction based on EB students language proficiency levels and individual student needs.
3. Understand and implement the state and districts ESL Program Model in alignment with policies rules and regulations regarding EB students.
4. Administer oral and written tests to EB students as needed including serving on a rotational basis at the EL (English Learner) Testing Center.
5. Provide oral and written communication in exception language as requested by the Office of Other Languages and teachers.
6. Maintain the confidentiality of students and administration.
7. Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

Maintain emotional control under stress. Moderate standing stooping bending and lifting. Exposure to hot and cold temperatures.
