Your Opportunity
You will join Chewys advanced technology organization as an AI Technologist IIpart of a small fast-moving team building AI-powered systems that apply cutting-edge research. This is a hands-on role designed for experienced builders who know the fastest path to learning is trial error and iterationnot endless planning or documents. Youll thrive in ambiguity test bold ideas by building prototypes and scale the ones that succeed. And while your focus will be on prototyping your ideas have the potential to grow into something much biggerhelping the organization see whats new and possible.

What Youll Do

• Own the end-to-end process of identifying a problem building prototypes and refining toward impact.

• Build fearlesslycreate multiple versions discard what doesnt work and double down on what does.

• Thrive in ambiguitytesting and refining ideas through trial and error and evolving designs based on what you learn.

• Work closely in a small agile team that values speed independence and shared ownership.

• Bring creativity and technical skill together with the joy of building experimenting and learning to craft tools and systems that matter.

What Youll Need

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related technical fieldor another field paired with a demonstrated ability to build and apply technology in practice.

• Hands-on experience developing and deploying AI systems with the ability to identify and frame problems worth solving.

• Proficiency in Python and demonstrated ability to use AI systems in practice.

• Strong analytical skills and fluency in experimental design and evaluation.

• Excellent collaboration and communication abilities with access to experts across the company to spark ideas and accelerate progress.

Bonus

• Masters degree with specialization in AI/ML or a related field.

• Experience with hackathons open-source projects or side projects that demonstrate passion for building.

• Contributions to academic publications or innovation showcases.

• The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidates relevant experience education and work addition this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant. C08 positions may also be eligible for annual bonus.
