Maclay School is currently seeking responsible energetic after-school counselors with a genuine passion for working with children to apply for the PreK & Lower School Kids Club After-School Counselor position for thecurrentacademic position will support students by fostering an enjoyable safe and enriching experience through simple craftsgamesand any otherdutyassigned by therespective ofKids Clubprogram manager.

Responsibilities

  • Foster the physical emotional and social well-being of students in the PreK & Lower Schools after school care program.

  • Support and engage in activities that incorporate Maclays Mission and Vision into the daily routine.

  • Lead activities that are developmentallyappropriate forthe age of the students attending.

  • Maintain records of attendance and sign-in/out sheets provided by the respective Director of Kids Club

  • Effectively communicate with the respective Director of Kids Club when questions or concerns are presented.

  • Report any problems which arise with students enrichments or staff to their respective Director of Kids Clubin a timely manner.

  • Superviseassist and activelyparticipatein all aspects of the students afternoon.

  • Maintain positive relationships with students by showing sensitivity tostudentsemotional needs and problem solving any student issues effectively.

  • Act as a role model for students by following all policies anddemonstratingenthusiasm sense of humor and self-control.

  • Implement positivebehavior managementand responsive classroom techniques.

  • Helpmaintainspace and supplies.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • High School Degree preferred but notrequired
  • Part-time availability Monday through Friday from 2:30pm 6:00pm
  • Demonstrated experience working with children in a group setting.
  • Ability to teach lead various recreational activities.
  • Excellent character integrity and adaptability.
  • Ability to communicate and work with a variety of ages and skill levels.
  • The desire and ability to work in a cooperative collaborative atmosphere.
  • Enthusiasm sense of humor patience and self-control.

Physical Requirements and ADA Statement

This role requires regular movement between classrooms and buildings participation in classroom observations and navigating indoor and outdoor spaces. The position also requires the ability to sit stand walk communicate clearly operate standard technology and occasionally lift up to 2030 pounds.
