Summary:
We are looking for an afternoon custodian to uphold the cleanliness and safety standards at Dexter High School. The individual will be responsible for performing daily general cleaning tasks both inside and outside the premises to ensure a clean hygienic organized and appealing environment. The ideal candidate should be reliable detail-oriented and able to work independently.

Compensation:

• $17.44 per hour

Responsibilities:

• Perform cleaning duties in various areas such as rooms hallways lobbies restrooms and corridors as assigned
• Sweep mop scrub and vacuum hallways stairs and office spaces
• Polish and wax floors as well as clean and extract rugs and carpets
• Dust furniture and equipment
• Empty trash containers and dispose of waste
• Wash windows door panels sills and other general areas
• Replenish restroom supplies and maintain cleanliness
• Refill cleaning and general supplies in classrooms or rooms upon request
• Conduct minor repairs and maintenance tasks within the building
• Report major repair needs to management
• Clear snow and debris from sidewalks and designated areas and salt icy surfaces
• Arrange tables and chairs in auditoriums rooms or halls as needed
• Address minor cleanups or accidents promptly
• Follow established safety protocols and procedures
• Assists in other areas as directed by building principal or supervisor

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous custodial experience preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending lifting and overhead work
• Capable of working independently and collaboratively with a team
• Must have reliable transportation as travel within the district is required throughout the day
• Ability to work with administration staff and bargaining unit members
• Strong attention to detail
• Punctuality and regular attendance are essential
• Excellent communication skills
