Job Summary

Position Purpose:
Provide targeted academic support to students identified through the schools MTSS process. The tutors will work with students recommended by grade-level teams content-area teams or other school-based teams based on identified academic needs.

  1. Provide targeted academic intervention to students identified through the MTSS process focusing on specific skill deficits or areas of need.
  2. Work with students recommended by grade-level or team meetings based on academic performance classroom data assessments or other indicators of need.
  3. Implement intervention strategies and activities aligned with classroom instruction grade-level standards and identified student needs.
  4. Use student data and teacher-provided information to establish appropriate instructional goals and monitor student progress.
  5. Provide small-group or individual tutoring in a structured after-school setting that promotes student engagement and academic growth.
  6. Monitor and document student progress using agreed-upon measures and communicate results to the appropriate grade-level/MTSS team.
  7. Collaborate with classroom teachers and intervention staff to ensure tutoring supports and reinforces current classroom instruction and MTSS interventions.
  8. Adjust instructional strategies and supports based on student progress performance and ongoing feedback from the MTSS/team process.
  9. Maintain accurate attendance and intervention records for all participating students and provide documentation to administration as requested.
  10. Support the transition and next steps of the MTSS process by providing information regarding student response to intervention including recommendations for continuing modifying or discontinuing after-school support.
  11. Facilitate targeted interventions for students based on building diagnostic results PSSA-driven data and other identified areas of academic need.
