POSITION:
The Interim Superintendent of Schools Dr. Ebony E. Prophet-Bullock interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:

Planning hours:
Week of October 13 (up to 6 hours after contractual day)

After-school Program Dates:

Elementary Schools: start week of October 19 2026- June 3 2027

High Schools: October 19- June 14

Actual dates and times vary by school


Location dates and times: Determined upon needs and qualifications and school day assignment

*Candidates should apply internally at their assigned school first

*Teachers are only eligible for openings that do not interfere with school day assignments

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must hold a valid NYS teaching certification in: General Education ENL Special Education or content area and be currently employed with the Buffalo Public Schools as a tenured probationary or temporary teacher. Teachers will create lesson plans and utilize the curriculum and district resources to provide academic and enrichment opportunities for students.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teachers will work under the supervision of the Building Administration to provide an effective after-school program. Building administrators design after-school programs to meet the needs of students and the school.

Responsibilities include:
  • Provide instruction to students in Grades K 12 per the schools after school program design
  • Teacher assignments are based upon qualifications certifications and training
  • Instructing students on grade-level coursework using differentiated strategies and approaches and working with students in need of academic support
  • Homework support
  • Qualified teachers can be assigned to teach/support programs and enrichment courses as needed such as:
    • Connexus online coursework
    • CLRI programs such as My Brothers Keeper and My Sisters Keeper
    • Specialty enrichment program
  • Other responsibilities as determined necessary by the building administration
APPOINTMENT:
The building principals will make the appointment and select candidates who bestmatch the recruitment bulletin and the after-school program description.
