AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM ASSISTANT INTERN FOR CTA STUDENT
The Milwaukee Rescue Mission Cross Trainers Academy (CTA) is offering one CTA student a paid student internship during the 2026-27 school year. This paid internship is available for current CTA High School students (10th 11th or 12th grade). The After School Program Assistant Intern will assist After Care staff with all program activities for children in grades K4-5th grade. The After Care Program provides a safe atmosphere after school for children to develop grow and improve their academic social emotional recreational and faith development by providing time for homework tutoring recreation and faith-based mentoring.
PAY RATE: $11.00/Hour
WORK SCHEDULE: Part-time temporary position through the end of the school year 10 hours/week 4 week days 2:30pm-5:00pm

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Help create a positive Christian educational and recreational atmosphere for children to grow in
- Reinforce lessons presented by CTA and After Care staff by connecting and working with students one-on-one
- Supervise and interact with youth in programming including homework help sports & recreation mentoring and social development
- Support after care rules and approved disciplinary procedures
- Perform daily check-in and chaperoning from the gym to the Youth Program Center
- Maintain physical state of all program space and equipment by practicing safety cleanliness and inventory control
- Assist with special events and youth programs
- Set-up and clean-up of programs events and meals
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current CTA 10th 11th or 12th grade high school student
- Minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0
- Good School behavior record
- Able and willing to take and follow directions from After Care Staff
- Developing organization prioritization and time-management stills
- Developing collaboration and communication skills
- Detail-orientated
- Culturally competent and relational displaying suitable interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with others
- Accepting of supervisor direction correction and feedback
- Enthusiastic with a positive attitude and readiness to be a team player
- Reliable in work attendance and being on time
- Continue developing a genuine concern for the salvation and spiritual welfare for all those encountered through the ministry of MRM seeking to model and share the hope of the gospel within the established responsibilities of this position
- Must be able to handle physical workload ability to stand or sit for long periods of time walking stair climbing kneeling squatting crouching reaching handling and gripping without difficulty repetitive movement of both hands and arms as well as occasional lifting or moving items with a maximum weight of 35lbs a short distance (ex: floor to shelf or cart) and pushing or pulling heavier items with the use of a cart or dolly
- A workplace demeanor consistent with a Christian church environment: civil respectful polite and responsive
- Regular attender of an evangelical church whose theology is in alignment with our Statement of Faith and Statement of Biblical Convictions
- Be in agreement with and subscribe to the MRM Statement of Faith and the MRM Statement of Biblical Convictions
- Be a committed follower of the Lord Jesus Christ which is evident in personal testimony and Christian conduct
- Pass a pre-employment background check and drug test
