After School Explorers Music Instructor

The After-School Explorers ASE program provides extended-day care and enrichment classes for PK-5^th grade students at Shady Side Academys Junior School campus in Point Breeze. ASE Music Instructors work with individual students in half hour lessons once per week while school is in session. Students have the opportunity to study guitar piano and in some cases violin or percussion instruments. Lessons are offered for students in Kindergarten through 5^th grade and for all ability levels.

Immediate Opening for Monday-Friday: 3-6pm weekly beginning August 25 for the 2026-2027 school year. Payment is competitive and commensurate with experience. Interviews for this position will begin on or around August 5^th 2026.

Compensation:

$25-35 hourly commensurate with experience

Experience in teaching and engaging elementary-aged students with a proven track record of success providing private piano vocal and instrumental music instruction.

Demonstrated enthusiasm and energy in making a difference in the lives of students.

Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students varying learning styles needs and interest.

Provides a safe environment for students.

Collaborate with After School Staff and be willing to lend additional supervisory support when needed.
