Aerospace Material Planner

PPGs Aerospace Business is looking for a Material Planner to join our team in Grand Prairie! As the Material Planner you will ensure a steady flow of all materials needed to keep a manufacturing line operating. You will team up with the companys purchasing department to acquire the requisite materials from vendors. Ultimately its your job to minimize costs and maximize productivity by maintaining a delicate balance between too many inventories and too little making sure that the assembly line has exactly what it needs no more and no less exactly when it needs it.

This is an onsite position in our Grand Prairie TX facility. You will report to the Sr. Manager Operational Excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Daily MRP (Materials Requirement Planning) review.

• Rejected POs will go to planning for quantity or date issues and sourcing for pricing issues.

• Communicate changes on notes missing in the item master.

• Identify issues on items that dont have safety stock.

• Wok on de-expediting expediting and canceling POs on a monthly basis working with suppliers.

• Work on excess and obsolete material monthly list.

• Work with master scheduler and production planners to eliminate material shortages.

• Take daily action on Past Due POs.

• Continue expediting efforts to support the Component Shortage List.

• Expanded activity based on changing MRP environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Business Supply Chain or Engineering.

• 1 year of purchasing experience.

• Prior experience with an ERP system required QAD experience preferred.

• Knowledge of Lean principles. Minimum White Belt required.
