Position Summary

The Aeromedical Case Manager Technician provides administrative and technical case management support for Headquarters Air Force Reserve Command (HQ AFRC) Aerospace and Operational Medicine Division. This position supports the review tracking processing and coordination of medical cases affecting flying and non-flying personnel while ensuring medical readiness and compliance with Air Force medical standards and regulatory requirements. The technician will accomplish administrative case evaluation by receiving tracking and reviewing pertinent medical data/information (e.g. medical history doctors findings) to ensure proper documentation is available for government medical providers to substantiate granting a waiver. All information must be input into respective electronic systems depending on case type. The technician serves as a primary liaison between Reserve Medical Units (RMUs) providers medical treatment facilities and service members to facilitate timely and accurate case adjudication and resolution.

Position contingent upon award of contract government acceptance of candidate and positive adjudication of government investigation.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Review evaluate and process aeromedical case files for flying and non-flying personnel in accordance with established Air Force policies and procedures.

Receive review and validate medical documentation for completeness and accuracy prior to Government provider review.

Process accession retention flying mobility deployment and other aeromedical waiver cases.

Maintain accurate case information within Government electronic systems including but not limited to: Aeromedical Waiver Management Information Tracking System (AIMWTS) Electronic Case Tracking (ECT) Physical Examination Processing Program (PEPP) MEDXS and

Management Internal Control Toolset (MICT)

Track medical cases throughout the adjudication process to ensure timely processing and disposition.

Coordinate with Reserve Medical Units (RMUs) Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs) Aeromedical Consult Service (ACS) MAJCOMs Headquarters Air Force personnel and civilian medical providers regarding case requirements and status.

Assist with Line of Duty (LOD) determinations Retention Limitation (RILO) actions and other medical readiness processes.

Ensure timely and accurate data entry case documentation and maintenance of electronic records.

Prepare recurring correspondence memoranda reports and administrative documentation supporting case management operations.

Assist with workload tracking reporting metrics and administrative support functions.

Respond to telephone calls emails and customer inquiries regarding case status and required documentation.

Provide courteous professional customer service to military members medical personnel and Government stakeholders.

Coordinate scheduling activities and follow-up actions associated with medical evaluations and case processing.

Support updates to case management procedures guidance and training materials as directed.

Attend meetings and training sessions as required.

Maintain compliance with HIPAA Privacy Act and applicable Air Force policies regarding sensitive medical information.

Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience Requirements

Associate degree in Health Information Management Healthcare Administration Medical Assisting Nursing Allied Health Business Administration or a closely related field.

OR

Four (4) years of directly related military or civilian experience in Air Force Aerospace Medicine Aeromedical Case Management Medical Standards Medical Readiness or Medical Administration.

Demonstrated experience with: Air Force medical readiness programs Aeromedical waiver processing Medical case management Medical terminology Physical examination standards Line of Duty (LOD) determinations Disability Evaluation System (DES) Medical Evaluation Boards (MEB) Air Force medical policies and guidance Microsoft Office Suite

Highly desired demonstrated experience with: AIMWTS PEPP ECT MEDXS MICT and Joint Legacy Viewer (JLV)

Strong leadership and team coordination skills
