Job Summary
Advancement Services Specialist
Mount Mercy University seeks an organized detail-oriented Advancement Services Specialist to support fundraising and alumni engagement efforts through database management gift processing reporting and donor stewardship.
This position is based on the Mount Mercy University campus in Cedar Rapids Iowa.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update donor and alumni records in Raisers Edge.
- Serve as the primary database resource and resolve data quality issues.
- Process gifts pledges recurring donations matching gifts payroll deductions and in-kind gifts.
- Generate donor receipts and acknowledgment communications.
- Create reports mailing lists and data extracts to support fundraising and alumni outreach.
- Maintain planned and deferred giving records.
- Develop systems to track donor giving and engagement.
- Collaborate with campus departments to ensure accurate data integration.
Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency with databases and Microsoft Office applications.
- Commitment to confidentiality and data accuracy.
Preferred
- Experience with gift processing fundraising operations or donor relations.
- Experience using Raisers Edge or other relational databases.
- Experience in higher education or nonprofit organizations.
