The Advanced Cybersecurity Engineer - Automotive is responsible for the end-to-end security of vehicle platforms. This includes conducting threat assessments designing secure architectures and ensuring compliance with global regulatory standards. You will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) guiding cross-functional teams (Software Hardware and Systems Engineering) to integrate security into every stage of the Product Development Lifecycle (V-Model).
Responsibilities
What youll do...
- Threat Analysis and Risk Assessment (TARA): Lead and perform TARA for vehicle components and systems (e.g. ADAS Infotainment Powertrain Connectivity) in accordance with ISO/SAE 21434.
- Security Architecture Design: Define and implement robust security controls including Secure Boot Secure Onboard Communication (SecOC) Hardware Security Modules (HSM) and encrypted Over-the-Air (OTA) updates.
- Compliance & Standards: Ensure all vehicle systems meet global regulatory requirements such as UN R155 and UN R156. Maintain alignment with industry best practices (NIST SAE).
- Vulnerability Management: Oversee penetration testing and vulnerability scanning activities. Analyze results to prioritize fixes and provide technical guidance for remediation.
- Incident Response: Lead the technical response to identified security incidents or newly discovered zero-day vulnerabilities affecting the fleet.
- Supplier Management: Evaluate the cybersecurity posture of Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers ensuring their components meet the companys rigorous security requirements.
- Mentorship: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers fostering a culture of Security by Design.
Qualifications
Youll have...
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Electrical Engineering Cybersecurity or a related field OR a combination of education and experience.
- 7 years of experience in cybersecurity with at least 4 years specifically focused on automotive or embedded systems.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Deep understanding of automotive communication protocols (CAN CAN-FD Ethernet/SOME/IP LIN FlexRay).
- Experience with Hardware Security Modules (HSM) and Trusted Execution Environments (TEE).
- Knowledge of cryptographic algorithms (AES RSA ECC) and Key Management Systems (KMS).
- Familiarity with embedded RTOS (e.g. QNX Green Hills Adaptive AUTOSAR) and Linux security.
- Standards Knowledge:

- Technical Proficiency:

This position is salary grade 7-8:
