Role Overview

The Admin on Special Assignment reports to either a school leader or a member of the Lead Learning Team and drives the continuity of instructional excellence by implementing cohesive coaching cycles for core instructional staff thereby ensuring no drop in instructional quality during site-level capacity gaps (vacancies and/or leaves). This role develops and coaches staff on curriculum internalization and planning ensuring fidelity to school expectations. The AOSA leads direct coaching and school culture support to advance teacher practice and align support with individual teacher coaching plans. To maximize impact the AOSA aligns onsite support schedules with the schools Instructional Leadership Team (ILT) cadence to ensure seamless integration and strategic coordination. The AOSA manages the additional instructional support for up to two schools concurrently for specified periods of time establishing instructional and cultural stability and continuity during transitions.

Core Responsibilities

Achieving Measurable Gains in Instruction and Teacher Development

Develops and Coaches staff on curriculum internalization and planning ensuring fidelity to school expectations and continuous improvement in instructional practice.
Monitors and Synthesizes summative and formative data to align coaching plans with teacher development needs and regional protocols resulting in measurable instructional gains.
Holds accountable for the timely completion and effectiveness of all coaching activity documenting progress in relevant trackers and O3 docs to ensure continuity and impact.
Creates and implements professional development sessions that advance teacher knowledge and skills directly addressing school needs or content team scope and sequences.

Establishing Cohesive Instructional Leadership and Strategic Alignment

Aligns on-site presence or virtual attendance with the schools Instructional Leadership Team (ILT) cadence to establish seamless integration of AOSA support.
Shapes the implementation of the schools instructional vision and priorities by collaborating across school leadership ensuring coaching directly advances strategic initiatives.

Cultivating an Orderly and High-Impact School Environment

Designs and Leads teacher support in student support and behavior intervention systems ensuring a reduction in reactive student discipline and maximized instructional time.
Oversees and supports essential daily school operations (e.g. arrival/dismissal lunch/recess) to maintain stability and continuity across the school site.

Knowledge & Skills

Required Qualifications

Experience	At least three years of leadership experience in a school setting leading the coaching and professional development of teachers At least five years of teaching experience Demonstrated achieving outcomes with students from educationally underserved areas
Education	Bachelors degree (required)
Knowledge/skills	Broad technical knowledge encompassing school systems functioning classroom and behavior management curriculum and instruction models for working with diverse populations (including students with disabilities) and a clear understanding of education law. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills demonstrated by the ability to build effective relationships influence diverse stakeholders and synthesize complex data to drive effective solutions. Exceptional organizational planning and implementation skills coupled with a detail-oriented self-directed work ethic and the ability to thrive in ambiguity and balance multiple competing priorities. Deep commitment to anti-racism racial equity inclusion and belonging and passionate alignment with KIPPs mission vision and values.

Clear California Teaching Credential (preferred)
MS in Education (preferred)

Work Setting	This is an on-site role
Travel Expectation	Potential travel between schools weekly
Drivers License	Must have a valid CA drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle for work-related travel / Must have a valid CA drivers license and access to reliable transportation for work-related travel.
Physical Demands	Ability to navigate office and school campuses use technology and occasionally lift or carry materials up to 20 lbs.
Mental Demands	Ability to manage competing priorities concentrate for sustained periods analyze complex information and make decisions under normal work pressures.
Environmental	Primarily school-based environment with regular travel between school sites

We benchmark annually against comparably-sized non-profit organizations in the regions where we operate to offer competitive salaries. The salary range for this position is between $95000 and $116415.
