About this Position

The Administrative Support Specialist for the Department of Psychology at Oklahoma State University provides administrative financial and operational support for the department. This position serves as a key point of contact for faculty staff and campus partners and helps ensure that departmental operations are accurate timely professional and responsive.

The position may be filled at the Administrative Support Specialist I Administrative Support Specialist II or Administrative Support Specialist Senior level. The final title/rank will be commensurate with the selected candidates education experience and qualifications.

Required Qualifications
  • High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
  • The position may be filled at the Administrative Support Specialist I Administrative Support Specialist II or Administrative Support Specialist Senior level. The final title/rank will be commensurate with the selected candidates education experience and qualifications.

    Admin Supp Spclt I: High school and 1 year of clerical/customer service experience.

    Admin Supp Spclt II:High school and 2 years of clerical/customer service experience.

    Admin Supp Spclt Sr:High school and 3 years of clerical/customer service experience.

    Post-secondary education may substitute for years of required experience.

Skills Proficiencies and/or Knowledge:

  • Ability to operate general office equipment; proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational skills ability to meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to learn and follow university college and departmental policies and procedures related to financial administrative and student support processes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using administrative financial HR or student information systems at OSU.
  • Experience with business operations financial administration customer service or related functions preferred particularly in a higher education or public-sector environment.
  • Experience working in an academic department student-facing office business office or other complex administrative environment.
