The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) AK Army National Guard (AKARNG) is recruiting for an Administrative Officer 1!
This position is in the General Government (GGU) bargaining unit at a range 17.
This position is open to Alaska Residents only.

What You Will Be Doing:
As our new Administrative Officer 1 for the Environmental Section with the Alaska Army National Guard you serve as the administrative lead ensuring efficient daily operations that support the organizations environmental stewardship this role you manage financial activities by monitoring budgets tracking expenditures and utilizing the IRIS system for procurement and accounting functions while also coordinating personnel actions payroll and serving as the primary liaison with Human Resources. You oversee procurement processes maintain inventory control and track specialized environmental equipment to ensure accountability and readiness. Additionally you support compliance by ensuring administrative processes align with state and federal environmental and cultural regulations and you contribute to process improvement by developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures to enhance efficiency and consistency across the program.

We accomplish this through staff training soldier engagement compliance site visits and providing timely and accurate regulatory guidance. The successful applicants must pass a federal background check in order to qualify for military base access which is required with this positions work location on base. The background check may include fingerprinting. All job offers are conditional pending successful completion of the federal background check and issuance of a Defense Biometrics Identification System (DBIDS) card allowing base access. Also you must be able to maintain the clearance throughout your employment. If using a private vehicle this will require a valid Alaska Driver License proof of vehicle insurance and a valid State of Alaska vehicle registration.
State employees are guests on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson; clearance and access are not within the States control.
Special Note:In addition in some cases employees must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC). Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in

Job Specific Requirements:
May travel to remote areas of the state to support the Departments missions. DMVA is housed on the Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson military base. The incumbent must be able to pass security check to access this federal military installation. Adherence to special security guidelines protocol etc. for Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson needs to be followed. Position may be exposed to pathogens (Hepatitis Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA)) for which vaccines and personal protective equipment are the most appropriate form of protection.
