Job Summary
Saiia Construction is hiring an AdministrativeCoordinator to be located onsite in our main office in Birmingham AL! The Administrative Coordinator is responsible for but not limited to a wide range of human resource related functions including talent acquisition onboarding records management and compliance with state federal and local regulations. This position also involves organizing special events and initiatives to enhance the companys HR practices.

- Take ownership of applicant after the offer is accepted to ensure they are scheduled for all pre-employment requirements.
- Guides new hires through the onboarding process to accurately complete all new hire paperwork and ensure all documents are uploaded into the employee personnel file.
- Maintain tracking system for new hires data entry or personnel information review forms and assist with I-9 compliance.
- Assists in pulling together all documents required for driver qualification files for DOT drivers.
- Schedule any new hire training required based on jobsite requirements.
- Follows up with new employees at 45 days and 90 days with onboarding survey for feedback about initial placement at jobsites.
- Follows up with new hires with reminders to complete benefit enrollment within their first 30 days of employment.
- Assists employees with navigating through the employee portal to request PTO view pay statements and update personal information.
- Participates in and facilitates Company events.
- Spearheads employer branding opportunities in recruiting at high school colleges and outreach programs.
- Partners with Talent Acquisition team to source candidates for open positions and participate in career fairs.
- Oversee Saiias internship and co-op program providing guidance and support to participants.
- Assist with departmental and company-wide special projects focusing on continuous improvement opportunities.
Education and Work Experience Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Human Resource or closely related field preferred.
- Minimum of one-year of experience in Human Resources preferred.
- Must have and maintain a valid state issued Drivers License with driving record that meets Saiias risk management guidelines.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required
- Thorough knowledge of human resource principles and practices including talent acquisition positive employee relations onboarding training performance management and employment law.
- Knowledge of skilled trades labor union contract management a plus.
- Excellent communication interviewing presentation and writing skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of HRIS systems Applicant tracking systems electronic application new hire paperwork and benefits enrollment.
- Superior attention to detail and the ability to multi-task are imperative.
- Must be able to function in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Strong MS software knowledge Outlook Word Excel and PowerPoint are required.
- Able to take responsibility for actions and outcomes and persist despite obstacles; give dedication to the position; demonstrate dependability in difficult circumstances and show a sense of urgency about getting results.
Working Environment
- When visiting jobsites the work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks which require following basic safety precautions
- This work environment may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures dirt dust fumes smoke unpleasant odors and/or loud noises
- This position is required to travel to job sites on occasion approximately 25% of the time
